Artists Jasmine Nilani and Sabyasachi Bhattacharjee have commenced their residency at Pepper House in Kochi.
Jasmine Nilani’s drawings explore fences, walls, and other natural and built borders. Even as her works are devoid of people, she studies practices of inhabitation that includes all its complexities – separation, loss of home, commercialisation, etc. A graduate of the University of Jaffna, her drawing-based work has been exhibited in several cities in the region, including Colombo, New Delhi, Dhaka and Panjim.
Sabyasachi Bhattacharjee works primarily with collage and animation. His multi-formal practice investigates natural principles like entropy, though transferring this to the social domain. He has exhibited in Korea, Canada and in various cities in India. Sabyasachi studied in Agartala and Baroda, and is currently based in Baroda, India.
