Ajay Skaria is a scholar of South Asian Politics and History and is currently teaching at the University of Minnesota. His last book, Unconditional Equality: Gandhi’s Religion of Resistance (Univ. of Minnesota Press, 2016) offers, according to eminent postcolonial scholar Dipesh Chakrabarty, “the most important recent historico-critical reading of—and commentary on—Gandhi’s major text, Hind Swaraj […] no one interested in the Mahatma will be able to ignore this book.
