Sunday, May 6 at 5pm at Pepper House, Kochi
The VOC – the Dutch East India Company – is considered to be the first multi-national company in history, setting up trade centres and colonising several parts of the globe. Cape Town in South Africa was one such port, and Kochi in India another.
In ‘Cape Town to Cochin’, South African artist Sue Williamson will discuss her research and previous work around these colonial plunderings, revisiting history through art.
Sue Williamson is represented in many museum collections around the world, including at the MoMa in New York, Tate Modern in London and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
This Let’s Talk event is organised by the Kochi Biennale Foundation with the support of HCL Foundation and Pepper House.
