It was with great sadness that we heard of Australian artist Chris Mann’s recent passing. Chris was a participating artist in forming in the pupil of an eye, the 2016 edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. His captivating sound work, speaking is difficult, as well as his work at largeboldly and consistently challenged what Chris Dercon called “the dictatorship of the visual.” Today, we remember his profound practice, and the impact he had on Biennale visitors and the Foundation team alike, especially the young volunteers who carefully studied and were moved by his work. Our thoughts are with all who admired Chris, his family, and friends.
