From Keralam with Love

(Photographic inkjet prints and rubberstamp impression on art magazine pages found in scrap yard.)

In this work for the Biennale, Upendranath has used images of his own body as a metaphor. Upendranth’s work tires to make sense of “seeing things from the roots” while also presenting a larger contemporary world view. He uses various texts that reflect on the current socio-political
order as his work oscillates between the old and the new while never leaving the present. This series consists of 55 photographic and text-based artworks printed on international art-magazine papers found as scrap.
